About Me and My Blog

Post 1: About Me, My Blog, and My Top 2 Cars of All Time

Hi, I'm Zachary Cavosi and I am a sophomore at Quinnipiac University. I created this blog "The Brake Pedal" to talk about my love of cars and driving and share my experiences with everyone. For as long as I can remember, I have always loved cars. They are just the coolest things. I love driving and if we have to go anywhere, I am always the one to be driving. I may own a 2012 Nissan Rouge, but I drive it fast every time I hop behind the wheel. When I see a beautiful car or hear that perfect exhaust note, my head turns. I can't tell you how many times I've almost crashed because I was paying attention to someone else's car. In this blog every week I will pick my one of my favorite automotive manufactures and talk about my favorite car from each and talk about my experiences with them. I've even been grateful enough to get behind the wheel of these magnificent machines. Today, however, I will start my blog with by talking about my two favorite cars of all time. One of which I was lucky enough to get behind the wheel of.

Number 1: Pagani Zonda
Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster
I really can't think of a more beautiful or more iconic car then the Pagani Zonda. Coming in at a price tag of at least $4 million dollars, I will probably never be able to own one in my life time, let alone drive one, but I can sure admire it. Coming out in 1999 and boosting the massive and stunningly sounding 7.3L Mercedes Benz V12, it is probably one of the most famous and well known cars ever built. Everywhere it goes it turns heads, everything about the car from its angles to the beautiful headlight design which is my favorite part about the whole car. Not to mention it has the best sounding engine of all time, that shoots massive flame out of its elegant quad exhaust tips. A staple of all Pagani Cars. Pagani has come out with many iterations of the Zonda since in release, my favorite being the Cinque Spec. The massive rear wing the extra aero make it look like a true hyper car. I recently attended a car show where I was lucky enough to see almost 20 Paganis all in one place. Something unheard of with cars this year. I was also able to hear the amazing exhaust note. Something I will never forget.

Number 2# Lamborghini Aventador SVJ
SVJ Roadster

This next car I was able to get the great honor of driving, and the story behind it is even crazier. I was never the biggest fan of the Aventador. It just was never my favorite. But then when Lamborghini dropped the brand new top of the line Aventador in 2019, I was in love. The added aero made this car look amazing. The massive rear wing, the dual exhaust that comes out near the wing and the two slits for air to pass through make it really look like a raging bull. Its sad knowing that this might be Lamborghini's last NA V12, but they sure went out for a bang. Now let me tell the story of how I got behind the wheel of this $700,000 beast. I was at a car show with one of my best friends when suddenly my jaw dropped. One of these was pulling up. This was right after it was released so this had to be one of the first in America. It drives by the crowd the engine revs. BOOM! It lets out the loudest noise I've ever heard. I'm pretty sure the whole crowd's ears were bleeding. I have still to this day never heard a car louder then this. This car just came to America most likely a few days ago and it already has a aftermarket exhaust. Now here's where it gets really crazy. I had to leave the car show early and I came back later to see of it was still going on, but it had ended. I saw the SVJ still parked in the garage and went to take the picture. The owner saw me and my friends and asked "you guys wanna go for a ride?" I couldn't believe it, stuff like this never happens. But, long story short, I hopped behind the wheel, drove it around the block a few times and had the best day of my life. I never drove a more aggressive raw car. It was a bull that had to be tamed.

Be sure to come back next week to see me start my blog series, "My Top Three" from various car companies.
