Mclaren's Top Three Cars

Mclaren is a British automaker that is known for making some of the best road and track cars in the entire world. Founded back in the 60's by Bruce Mclaren, he makes many different cars like the M1A and the M1B. With these cars, he would gain many race victories all around the world. He eventually went on to develop the MG6T, which would have been his first road going car. Sadly, Bruce would die in a crash in 1970. It wouldn't be until 1985 when Mclaren Automotive was officially started. In 1992, they would go on to create what is regarded as one of the best street and race cars ever made, The Mclaren F1. It would dominate in every race it was in. Mclaren would create it first official road car, the 12c in 2011. To this day, Mclaren is still releasing the best, most technologically advanced road and track beasts the world has ever seen.

Number 1: Mclaren F1

I don't even know where to start with this car. The F1 is regarded as one of the best cars that was ever made. Anyone who was alive back in the 90's and knew cars loved this thing. To start off, this car looks beautiful. Everything about it the lines the shapes, it just looks perfect. This car is over 25 years old and I think it still looks modern to today's standards. Everything about this car is special. Only 107 were made and it had a starting price of over 1 million dollars, back in the 90s. Today. if you want one of these, it is easily 20 million dollars or more. Under the hood of this car is 627HP V-12 engine, made by BMW, paired to a 6-speed manual. Oh, and the drivers seat is in the middle with a seat on either side of the driver. This is a pure drivers car, no electronics to save you, all in the skill of the driver. I included a picture below of what the interior looks like. Check it out!

Number 2: Mclaren P1

There is no car like the P1. This is Mclaren's entry into the big 3 hyper cars. The P1 is just stunning in every way, it is so beautiful, so powerful and an absolute monster on the track. When the car is lowered and put in race mode, it looks so aggressive. This could also rank up there as one of the best cars ever made. McLaren only made 475 of these hyper cars, and each cost well over 1 million dollars. The P1 has a crazy 901 HP. 727 HP comes from the 3.8L twin-turbo V8, and the other 177 comes from an electric motor. The P1 will go from 0-60 in 2.7 second and from 0-124 in only 6.8 seconds. That has to be one of the quickest cars in the world. Whats even crazier about this car, is that it has a theoretical top speed of 250MPH!! If there's any car out there that is dangerous to drive, its this one. Its speed and power needs an experienced driver. Although I will never get the chance to be in one of these in my life, just seeing one of these in person is is special. I saw a full purple carbon fiber P1 at a car show, and it was one of the most stunning cars I've ever seen. The P1 will go down as a legend.

Number 3: Mclaren 675LT

Another critically acclaimed car from Mclaren, I think there is a pattern here. Many consider this to be the perfect car. A 10/10. People can't find one thing wrong about it, and for good reason. It has a stunning design, reminiscent of many other Mclaren models. It is the upgraded, more track focused version of the 650s. The car drives so perfect, it's incredible. I will speak later about my experience with it. The 675LT is a huge upgrade above the normal 650. Its 3.8L TT V8 puts out 666HP and 516lb of torque. That's 35 horsepower more then the original one. All that power sends the car from 0-60 in only 2.9 seconds. Somehow, Mclaren knows how to make these rear wheel drive cars accelerate and grip so well of the line. Getting one of these now will cost around $200,000-$500,000, depending if your getting the spyder or not. Now, what is it like to drive one of these? Incredible is an understatement. I have a friend back home that is far from poor. His dad is a car guy and owns a few super cars and this is one of them. You know in Ferris Bueller's Day Off when they steal the fathers car? Well I had a day like that, except the car stayed in one piece. We took it out for about an hour while he was at work and it was incredible. I've never driven anything like it. it was just so perfect. The shifts were so aggressive and quick, and the way the car moved and turned, it was just so refined. I'm so grateful and lucky that I had the opportunity to drive or ride in a couple of the best cars in the world. They are all experiences I have never forgot.
