The Brake Pedal

Up this week is Lamborghini, probably one of my favorite car brands out there. Every one of their cars has a distinct styling, so different then any other car brand, an aggressive over the top style. Nothing sounds much better then a Lamborghini V12, or maybe a nice Lamborghini V10 that someone twin-turbo charges. Lamborghini was founded back in 1963 by Ferruccio Lamborghini in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy. Their first true super car, the Miura, came out in 1966 and was the fastest production car at the time. Lamborghini would be most famous for their rear engine V12 cars such as the Countach, Diablo, Murcielago, and the current car, the Aventador. Lamborghini would also make the V10 Gallardo and their newest V10, the Huracan. They would also enter the world of SUVs in 2018 with the Urus. Mclaren is a British automaker that is known for making some of the best road and track cars in the entire world. Founded back in the 60's by Bruce Mclaren, he makes many different cars like the M1A and the M1B. With these cars, he would gain many race victories all around the world. He eventually went on to develop the MG6T, which would have been his first road going car. Sadly, Bruce would die in a crash in 1970. It wouldn't be until 1985 when Mclaren Automotive was officially started. In 1992, they would go on to create what is regarded as one of the best street and race cars ever made, The Mclaren F1. It would dominate in every race it was in. Mclaren would create it first official road car, the 12c in 2011. This week was an insane week for car releases. Automotive fans around the world got to the see unveiling of some of the craziest and most anticipated cars of the year.  Despite the Geneva Motor Show being cancelled due to fears of the Coronavirus, car companies still held the unveiling of their new cars. I will talk about what I think was the two biggest releases: the Koenigsegg Gemera and the Mclaren 765LT.  Koenigsegg Gemera Koenigsegg is known for making some of the craftiest and fastest mega cars in the world. They make the Agera, which holds the production car top speed record of 275 mph. They never shy away from innovation either. Their other car, the Regera, has no gears, which is just insane to think about. This new car, the Gemera, might just be one of the wildest cars ever built. Porsche is one of the most iconic German car brands. Porsche is known for their most famous model, the 911. The Porsche 911 first came out in 1963, and the exterior design has remained almost the same over the past 50 years.  Porsche released their most powerful 911 ever, the GT2 RS in 2019. Porsche is recognized as making some of the best track cars in the world. They are known for the perfectly tuned driver mechanics. Number 1: Porsche 959 The 959 released in 1986, boasting a 2.9 L Twin-Turbo Inline 6 engine, producing 444 horse power. Originally, the 959 was produced to be a group B race car and only 337 were ever made. At the time, this car was the most technologically advanced car of its day. It was also the fastest street legal car, with a top speed of 197 mph. Another interesting fact about the 959 is that it was never legal in America. This week, I will be talking about what I think are Ferrari's top three cars. Ferrari is one of the most famous car brands in the the world. Everyone has heard of Ferrari. They make some of the Italy's best cars, and are known for having a rich history of  making the best race cars and street cars. Enzo Ferrari started making his cars in Maranello, Italy in 1943. In this post, I will be talking about what I think are Ferrari's top three cars. Number 1: Ferrari LaFerrari   The LaFerrari came out in 2013. It was Ferrari's first hybrid hyper car with a 6.3L V12 pairs with their HY-KERS hybrid systems that puts out 960 horsepower and 663 lb of torque. This 9,000 RPM monster sends the car in 2.4 seconds. This car was built to compete against the McLaren P1 and Porsche's 918, both hybrid hyper cars. Only 499 were every built, making this car cost way over one million dollars if you want to buy one.
